Paloma Fernandez Barba, born on August 28th in Guadalajara, Jalisco. Mainly influenced by her environment along with her grandparents’ town, in Los Altos de Jalisco. These places played a significant role in shaping her artistic vision, encouraging her to pursue art from a young age. Surrounded by influential figures, Paloma developed an interest in themes of absurdity and contradiction.
Her exploration in art began with classes in various mediums, including clay, inks, watercolors, and charcoal. She advanced her skills in acrylic painting at an academy in San Miguel de Allende, focusing on color theory and painting techniques. Her education continued at ITESO, where she studied architecture and met her mentor, Aldo Alvarez.
Her experience further expanded while working with Francisco Ugarte, where she learned about art production and conceptual work. During the global pause of 2020, she collaborated with Fernando Mora and later joined the Sordo Madaleno studio in Mexico City, further sharpening her drawing skills.
Currently, she is focusing on illustration and graphic design — using her broad experiences as a foundation. While also exploring set design with a focus on material experimentation and birthing spatial ambiances.
